IOM, in partnership with the Harvard Medical School, is responding to the lack of structured medical care in Aceh province by investing in capacity building for provincial-, district- and community-level health staff, providing relevant training courses and support for medical emergencies. In addition to building close to 40 satellite health clinics and rehabilitating several key community health centers (puskesmas), IOM has established mobile health teams, including staff trained in psychosocial issues, that provide services throughout conflict-affected areas of Aceh. |
